To successfully complete the IT Internship, you are required to work in an IT-related position for at least 96 hours during this semester. This applies regardless of whether you work for pay or volunteer. Your position does not necessarily have to be in the same area as your major. If you are already employed in an IT-related position, you may be able to use that position for your internship. Ask if you have any questions. If you are unable to find an IT-related position or make arrangements for volunteer work, then you may substitute a project that will appropriately display your skills. You are responsible for all aspects of the project, including the idea, but I will help you develop specs, if necessary. This project is best completed in conjunction with the project course, but can be completed independently. Remember that MATC is not responsible to find you a position. I will share whatever position openings that come my way via Blackboard and ask you to do similarly. The live section will meet in-person twice, with the rest of the semester allocated to self paced exploration on the job and preparing the progress reports and other paperwork. When the live section does not meet, I will be available during the scheduled hours. I will accept paperwork in person, e-mail or US Mail. No faxes, please. |
